Alex Kate celebrates the emotion of a new relationship with single, Close To You.

Hailing from Norwich, Alex’s music has been featuring on our blog since 2022 when Jane posed her a few questions in an interview. This year, I’ve shared her singles Lost Soldier and High Club.
Though the relationship that inspired Close To You has now ended, Alex was taken enough with the start of it to immortalise it in song. Starting with the isolated piano of LA-based pianist Ty Rex, Alex’s warm vocals float in, telling a story of emotional insecurity. There are highs and lows, beautifully reflecting the thrill of a new relationship, and things end pleadingly with a powerful crescendo.
