York’s Messy Eater delights with groovy new single

Previously backed by NME, The Guardian and BBC Radio 1 with a previous project, local artist Messy Eater hit our radar with new track Feels Good.

By Graeme Smith

Like one of his major influences, Gorillaz, Messy Eater (real name Pete Bott) likes to combine illustration with music, creating a parallel world much like our own. Musically, there are also nods to Beck, Talking Heads and Avalanches in Feels Good, bringing together the best of indie pop and alternative.

It’s a track that wastes no time getting into the groove while Pete’s growling vocals provide some gritty texture. It’s vibrant and pumping – you can’t help but move along to its infectious beat. It’s the perfect anthem to get you ready for your weekend.

Feels Good is the first single released from Messy Eater’s upcoming debut EP, Starters. It’s out now and you can give it a listen below.
