Yorkshire’s Ivory Lake releases relatable new single

Ivory Lake encourages us to take a chance with new track, Reckless Enough To Be Free.

By Graeme Smith

If you’ve ever been put off from doing something you really want to because of the risk involved, then you’re going to find a lot to relate to in Ivory Lake’s new track.

Real name Joshua Watts, Ivory Lake is a Sheffield-based singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who is appearing on our blog for the first time. His brand of alternative pop will find fans among those who love The 1975, Phoebe Bridgers and Pale Waves.

His new single Reckless Enough To Be Free is a gentle acoustic number that best showcases his soulful vocals. There’s a touch of the classic about its piano-led instrumental and its lyrics are strikingly compelling. It certainly sets Joshua out as one to watch on the Yorkshire scene.

The single is out now and you can give it a listen below.
