York Calling favourite Synecdoche Montauk goes back to his roots with new single, From The Beginning.

The project of Moscow, Russia-born, London-based Savva Rozanov, Synecdoche Montauk has appeared a few times before on this blog. In 2023, I shared his single KG and album Acume before posting about his video Forest of Hands early in 2024.
His new single, From The Beginning, sees him going back to his roots with a fully acoustic effort. About having to start from scratch, it gives us a subtly that we often lack in our modern world.
The delicateness of its composition is captivating. Though the lyrics are in Russian, the emotion of the vocal is universal. I was utterly gripped during the simmering verse and blown away by the soaring chorus. Synecdoche Montauk is an artist who truly is one of a kind.
