Fringe Frontier paint a picture with latest single

Since September 2024, we’ve featured the music of American rock band Fringe Frontier a few times and I’ve previously described their work as “flawless.” Now they’re back with a new one which I hope will keep up the good run. It’s called Astor Place.

By Graeme Smith

Their new single is perhaps their most storytelling effort to date, painting a picture of dingy streets, rumbling trains and flickering cab lights. The tale unfolds against a backdrop of raucous Deep South-tinged rock and is delivered charismatically by growling vocals. As the track progresses to its chorus, the tempo ramps up, inviting us to shake it all off.

The track will feature on Fringe Frontier’s upcoming album, Songs from the Wirehouse, a collection put together with the help of Grammy winners McKenzie Smith and Kim Rosen.

Astor Place is out now and you can give it a listen below.
