Bringing together the Americana of the US South with the punk of New York City, Fringe Frontier drop latest single Wake Me Up.
By Graeme Smith
We get a bright opening salvo from Wake Me Up that hints at Britpop, psychedelia and jangly indie rock all at once. The genre is difficult to define, but the strong storytelling of its lyrics is undeniable. They are beautifully delivered by charismatic vocals, while the instrumental groove remains relentless. I’m not sure I’ve heard a better rock track this year. It’s simply flawless.
Wake Me Up will feature on the band’s upcoming album Songs from the Wirehouse. The single is out now, available to buy as a digital track on Bandcamp. You can give it a listen below.
