Based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, Kathmandu are a new discovery for us thanks to their latest single, Different Life.

Opening with some vibrant yet ponderous guitar overlaying a groovy rhythm, there’s an instant infectiousness to Different Life. Then, the vocals of lead singer and lyricist Donna Marie come in and you realise you’re in for something special with it.
“I wanted to write a song that doesn’t just talk about freedom, but actually sounds like it,” she explains. “That expresses this urge to escape and create a fresh start for yourself. What I wanted to convey is that it is never too late to start over. But you need to initiate it yourself. No one else will do it for you.”
She’s certainly nailed the tone and Different Life is a beautiful introduction to a band that I’ll be looking forward to getting better acquainted with. The single is out now and you can give it a listen below.
