Ubiquity Machine return with romantic new track

Back with a dreamy love song about infatuation, Ubiquity Machine continue to hold our attention with their latest single, Angela.

By Graeme Smith

Angela is a soft, storytelling number that pairs a gentle alt pop instrumental with soulful vocals. There’s a sense of the timeless about it, especially coming from its earnest lyrics that paint a picture of heartache in its ode to its titular character. There’s some beautiful poetry in the verse before things get hooky in the chorus. An unexpected breakdown sets up its soaring outro nicely.

“This song is a slow-burning question,” says Howard Rabach of the band. “It’s vulnerable. We’ve all been there — stuck between love, hope, and wondering if they are heading for the door.”

Based in Washington DC, USA, the duo of Ubiquity Machine first featured on these pages in January 2025 through their EP, Romeo and Juliet. Angela feels like a fine further chapter from them.
