Racheal Sage is an acclaimed singer-songwriter and one we’ve had the pleasure of sharing music from on several occasions. Her latest release, Canopy, comes complete with a video.
By Graeme Smith
Canopy has a striking message, championing women and peace, believing the two go hand in hand. Sage has some beautiful philosophy in her lyrics and delivers it well with expressive vocals. A soaring chorus uplifts and empowers. Joined by the Sequins (violinist Kelly Halloran and harmonica player Will Wilde), Sage creates classic country that has something to say.
The video sees Sage dressed colourfully and performing in a picturesque garden with plenty of charisma.
Sage is set to unveil her latest full-length studio album later this year of which Canopy is its first single and title track. The album promises tales of resilience, longing and finding light in darkness and follows on from 2023’s brilliant The Other Side which I called “a treat” in my review.
If you’re inspired to catch Racheal Sage performing live, you’re in luck. She’s currently on tour in the UK with a stop at Forty-Five Vinyl Cafe in York tonight, 30 May 2025.
The single Canopy is out now and you can give it a listen below.
