Turning the simple act of being into a triumph, Just Enough is the latest single from Rachael Sage.
By Graeme Smith
The track sees Sage adopt something of a throwback sound. We have licks of Hammond organ, wah-wah guitar, blasts of horn, and a swaying timelessness. Centre stage, as always, is Sage’s compelling vocal. It’s full of charm during a smiling verse before things become warm and all-encompassing in the chorus. You feel love in every note and bar.
Joining her on the track are her “Sequins,” renowned violinist Kelly Halloran (Lainey Wilson, Goo Goo Dolls) and Will Wilde, a fast-rising blues-rock harmonica player (Walter Trout).
Following on from its title track, Just Enough is the second single to be taken from Sage’s upcoming album Canopy.
Rachael Sage is an artist who has never been far from our pages since we discovered her music in 2023. We’ve shared several singles, an album, and even interviewed her. We just can’t seem to get enough of her distinct brand of singer-songwriter folk, and long may it continue.
You can stay up to date with her through her website, and by following her on Facebook, X, Instagram, YouTube, and Spotify.
