DAAY hypnotise with unique new track

Led by songwriter Alex Barty-King, DAAY are a regular feature on our blog. Their latest single, Guru Deva, shows why we keep coming back for more.

By Graeme Smith

Opening with funky, jagged and offbeat textures, there’s an instantly hypnotic quality to the track. It grooves along before brass adds some metallic punchiness and expressive vocals add a human touch. The lyrics are captivatingly surreal, rich with a relatable anxiety. Soft harmonies in the chorus prove utterly charming.

We’ve been featuring London-based DAAY’s music since 2021 and are always impressed with the uniqueness of what they’re doing. Guru Deva is no exception.

The single is taken from their upcoming EP Memories Of The Future on their own label Yada Recordings. It’s out now and you can give it a listen below.
