Scarlet Mill tell a whiskey-soaked tale with new single

Telling the story of a male protagonist rediscovering lost memories in a nightclub, Scarlet Mill’s new single transports you.

By Graeme Smith

A groovy, dusky and atmospheric number, She Waits tells a whisky-soaked story through contrasting twin vocals. A bass growl meets a soulful lead as its verses unfold, reminiscent of Mark Lanegan & Isobel Campbell. There’s a touch of the classic about its chorus, and a freakout solo proves a highlight.

Amsterdam, Netherlands-based Scarlet Mill’s music has been appearing on our pages since 2023, but you have to go back to the beginning of 2024 for the last time we shared anything from them. It’s great to have them back.

She Waits is out now, and you can listen to it below.
