Scarlet Joy returns with raw and raucous single

An exploration of addiction and co-dependency, Back for More is the latest release from Lincoln’s Scarlet Joy.

By Graeme Smith

The single has a raw, raucous edge that lovers of classic and modern rock will appreciate. A smouldering first verse introduces the ghostly yet powerful vocals before things threaten to boil over with frustration in the chorus. Lyrics speak of returning to a bad habits, expressing the story with hard-earned experience.

“It’s about being stuck in something you know is destructive — but you still go back,” says Scarlet Joy of the single.

In 2022 and 2023, Scarlet Joy was never far from our pages, but it’s been a couple of years since we last shared anything from her. Back for More is a welcome return.

The track features Tom Latham on bass and Phil Wilon on drums. It was recorded at Superfly Studios and is the first release from Scarlet Joy’s upcoming EP, The Burning Days.

Back for More is out now and you can give it a listen below.
