Operating straight out of his Windsor basement studio, dance-pop producer and singer-songwriter Remik Erikson has marked out his own niche within the music industry. His latest 13-track album, A Baker’s Dirty Dozen, is a masterclass in lighthearted eccentricity, blending interesting food-related puns with house beats and catchy rhythms to make for something really electrifying. Following the album’s release, we caught up with Remik to find out more about the man behind the music.

How has your 2026 been so far? All good I hope?
2026 has been busy and flying by. My kids are already just about to start school. Crazy. Summer gone. Also getting married to my muse in the fall. So a very busy year.
You have a new album out titled A Baker’s Dirty Dozen. What can you tell us about the record? How has the reception been so far?
This album really took my heart and focus. But it was amazing. I havent been locked in artistically on a project with a central focus in a very long time. Nacho came almost in the rhythm of the day. It also lit a culinary fire and desire for myself to see just what else I could bake up. In the end, A Baker’s Dirty Dozen gives you a spread of culinary puns and fun which I hope can be enjoyed and respected.
The reception has been pretty amazing so far. Some of the replies have been over the top amazing with even some reviewers placing the album with words like best and ever. Very shocking. Whereas others have taken a heavy focus on my lyrical application, which is really where my heart and pride lives.
You also released another album this year called IT. What can you tell us about that album?
I did release IT – while still proud of some of the songs, IT felt forced and rushed in some ways. I was not nearly as in love with IT as I was with A Baker’s Dirty Dozen. Honestly, ITs A Mystery really pushed that album. I was in love with that song and wanted to build around IT. But, I was also tag teaming much of the Baker’s Dozen songs so I never felt too devoted to IT which was a shame. It still has some good listens, such as In IT To Win IT, which has really grown on me. Still, IT deserved better focus and attention that I do not feel that I gave to the record.
You seem to be very prolific! How do you manage to balance it all? Do you have any side projects on the go as well?
Yeah, prolific is one way to say it. Sometimes its flowing endlessly and then sometimes it feels more prophylactic. I’m usually always thinking or tying things together in my head. Since experimenting with social media and AI programs, I really have been able to let the juices blend in the moments. But yes, I have been constantly busy since leaning head first into all this.
Too many side projects. Already planning and prepping a ‘leftovers’ album along with a culinary ‘holidays’ album. Plus working with all the rest. I’m usually busy even if standing still.
Have you started working on your next EP/album yet?
Yup. The sequel to Baker’s Dozen, Leftover has been in the works since completing Smashburgah. And I recently began diving into candies for a Halloween song for the seasonal/holiday album.
Do you plan to release any singles anytime soon?
I was really hoping to have a Halloween song released by October, but I feel behind already. I am working on it. I am not sure yet when I will release any singles from Leftovers.
You’re based in Windsor in the USA. What is the local music scene like there?
There is a great local music scene. Very casual indie and punkish led by a local sound, park events and community concerts. Not a heavy electronic area.
Who are your main influences? What have you been listening to recently?
My main influences would probably be Collective Soul and Weird Al. Lately, I’ve been listening to a lot of Collective Soul, Josh Ritter, The Who and Meatloaf.
Do you have any tour dates lined up for the UK?
No current dates. Still playing with the possibilities.
Any last words for the fans?
I am honoured if you consider yourself a fan. I ventured into this blindly with just a desire to possibly entertain others. If I have done that then I am honoured.
