The three events you shouldn’t miss this week.
Gill Landry (Old Crow Medicine Show), Zak Ford + Rat Catchers Mallets
Thursday 21 July, 8pm
Gill Landry, former songwriter and multi-instrumentalist star of cult legends The Crow Medicine Show, visits York for the first time on Thursday. He’ll be joined in City Screen’s intimate Basement venue by local song-smith and York Calling favourite Zak Ford as well as folky-punk 5-piece Rat Catchers Mallets in what promises to be a night to tell your grandchildren about.

Tuesday 26th July, 7.30pm
Irish indie rockers Ash are back, with a highly anticipated gig at Fibbers next Tuesday as part of their U.K tour. This is a show for both longtime fans of the band and newcomers, as whilst Ash are a band with a dedicated following, they’re also very good live and have a selection of catchy hits that most people will know and find themselves singing along to.
Dick Valentine (electric six)
Friday 22nd July, 8.30pm
Tyler Spencer, also known by his stage name Dick Valentine, is an American singer, songwriter, musician and author. Join him for free on Friday for a drunken acoustic sing-a-long of a one-man versions of all the Electric Six favourites from the last decade.
