The three events you shouldn’t miss this week
Micklegate Run Soapbox Challenge
Sunday 28 August, 8am
Like Bishy Road and Fossgate, Micklegate is on a mission to make itself stand out as a real destination to visit when in York. One thing that does make it distinctive is that it’s the closest thing you get to a hill round these parts, so it’s the ideal location for a soapbox derby. Expect fun, calamities, street food, bands and all-round entertainment.
Friday 26th August, 8.0pm
Legendary punks the Undertones are set to play a special show this Friday, celebrating their 40th anniversary together as a band. They will of course play their famous hit Teenage Kicks, but the band are so much more than that, and are well worth a watch!
