The three events you shouldn’t miss this week.

Regeneration:  LGBTQ Gallery Tour

York Castle Museum

Thursday 15 September to Saturday 15 October, 1pm to 2pm

Up until mid October, experience York Castle Museum’s 1914 exhibition from an undertold perspective, that of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender community, focussing on the themes of homosexuality and masculinity explored in Pat Baker’s novel, Regeneration and its sequels. These guided tours take place between 1pm and 2pm each day but book early as places are first come, first served.

The Birthday Massacre

Fibbers, York

Friday 7th October, 7.30pm
Canadian Goth-rockers The Birthday Massacre are heading to Fibbers this weekend to play a headline gig, and as anyone who has seen them before can attest, they certainly know how to put on a show! They have a pretty unique sound, with electronica and new wave influences present as well as the usual goth and rock ones, so if you’re in the market for something different – then this might be it!

Chase and Status

York Barbican

Saturday 8th October, 9:30pm

Electronic music production duo Chase and Status are performing in York for the first time since 2012. They will also be supported by progressive metal band Dimension, indie band 1991 and drum and bass band North Base.
