Volpone, or ‘Out-Foxed

Volpone, or ‘Out-Foxed’ by Ben Jonson at Joseph Rowntree Park, 7pm: 15-17 May, 3pm & 7pm: 20 & 21 May

Better than Shakespeare? Judge for yourself!

Come and see a rarely-produced masterpiece from Shakespeare’s friend and rival, Ben Jonson. This animal fable for grown-ups is filled with larger-than-life masked con artists on the prowl. Verse and street comedy collide in this stunning Venetian carnival, featuring live music, wild costumes and a giant two-headed puppet judge. Produced by Re:Verse Theatre, a rising professional company specialising in classics with a social conscience. Part of the York International Shakespeare Festival.
