York based music promoters Green Chilli Roots will be continuing their series of concerts at the Winning Post in Bishopthorpe Road on Tuesday 5 June with renowned singer songwriter Gina Dootson supported by the Rich Hardcastle Band.
Having started singing in the folk clubs when she was a teenager, Gina branched out into the wider world of music. Following on from winning York’s Battle of the Bands at the age of 19 she played gigs across the country with her band and had Radio 1 airplay with a trance song she wrote with the Thrillseekers. Following time away from Yorkshire in Germany and Cambridgeshire, Gina is now based in Snaith and is returning to her roots as a singer songwriter and the Winning Post concert will be her first headlining gig in York for some considerable time.
Gina’s music is wholehearted and meaningful and her songs are performed with the energy and passion that only someone who has a total commitment to their music can achieve.
Support on the night will come from the recently formed Rich Hardcastle Band who are already creating a buzz with their well-crafted original songs. They are well on their way to recording their first studio album which is planned to be available later this year.
Joe Grint of Green Chilli Roots said:
‘We are really delighted to be able to feature Gina Dootson and Rich’s band together on the same bill and we are sure the audience is in for a treat. The newly refurbished concert room we are using at the Winning Post and the friendly atmosphere at the gigs has received lots of praise from people who have attended our previous nights and we intend to build on that enthusiasm.’
Doors open at 8pm and tickets are available in advance for £5 + booking fee from here or £8 on the door.
