Mayshe Mayshe, Flora Greysteel, KITS – The Fulford Arms

First Those Eyes night in York! Local theatrical pop duo Flora Greysteel, electronic sad-lad KITS and pop-wonder Mayshe Mayshe are teaming up to create a spectacular evening of music: all three acts set up on The Fulford Arms stage at the same time. A rotating interwoven set, like nothing you’ve (I’ve) seen before. Make sure to get down early so you don’t miss anything. Gonna be special!

Tickets £4 adv:

Flora Greysteel –
Colourful, theatrical and beguiling, Flora Greysteel brings together the vocals, piano and looping skills of Emily Rowan with the eclectic percussive noise-making of Simon Bolley. Elements of cabaret, rip-roaring choruses twinned with choral elegance at once give way to moments of intimate reflection, sea shanties and electronica-pop. Believers in DIY, knitting and glitter (amongst other things), Flora Greysteel make music that opens the door to fairy tale worlds that exist all around us.

Kits (stylised KITS). Kit – noun – a small fur-bearing animal. Formed in 2013, KITS is the one-man production project of Jayson Turner, an over-qualified software engineer living in Manchester, UK. KITS combines vocals, electric guitar, synth, and sequenced percussion amidst other “toys”. The vision is to create something simple and meaningful with uplifting melodies and neat beats.

Mayshe Mayshe –
York/ Leeds based Mayshe-Mayshe imbues her dreamlike electonic pop with rich storytelling, skittering percussion and infectious melodies. Her deceptively simple songwriting – at once universal and deeply personal – incorporates choral vocals, looping synths and the occasional hairdryer.
