Discovery: Joseph Hammill

Infant Hercules is the debut single from singer-songwriter Joseph Hammill, and it’s incredibly impressive for such an early release – this guy certainly has a lot of potential.

The track is a folk song that takes on elements of more traditional folk singer-songwriters, as well as modern ones, with Johnny Flynn and Laura Marling being the influences that come to mind. It’s absolutely beautiful, telling the story of Hammill’s native Teesside, with an eerie and melancholic feel to the song.

It’s breathtakingly beautiful and the build up is spectacular – have a listen if you don’t believe us:
