Adore//Repel – Bad Apples, Leeds

Following on from another successful tour to Iceland in May, Adore//Repel are now embarking on a number of UK dates to coincide with the release, followed by a full tour of the USA in September.

Not bad for a self-funded four-piece from Wakefield, West Yorkshire; a fiercely independent band with their own record label, their own studio – which they built themselves – their own record shop and coffee bar, who operate without a booking agent or manager, and embrace everything that has always been so healthy about the DIY ethic.

Many bands follow a similar path. The difference perhaps with Adore//Repel is that, without resorting to the machinations of the music industry, they have previously self-booked and played several full UK tours, along the way selling every bit of merchandise they took with them; performed three sell out tours in Iceland; played the Reading and Leeds Festivals; made the BBC Introducing Top Ten Sessions list; and self-released their debut album, Empty Orchestra, to huge acclaim.

The band will be supported by The Stayawakes, and will be playing at Bad Apples bar in Leeds on Thursday 5th July.
