On to the North is about soul searching and finding your ‘True North’. For Larry Lacerte from Broke Down Rodeo, one of those dreams included moving from Colorado to Alaska for a summer to explore the wilderness and chase a passion for aviation, where he picked up a hitchhiker along the way.

On to the North tells the story of this journey and centers on the freedom and adventures found out on the road. It’s a folk song with an americana and country feel to it, with what sounds like a banjo being plucked steadily alongside the driving acoustic guitar beat. Lacerte’s gruff vocals add a journeyman feel to things, and the poppy nature of the tracks adds a perfect contrast to to them.
