Neon Salmon, Fond, Loverman – The Fulford Arms

Here’s a night of strange and wonky pop. Funtimes.

Neon Salmon
York has a very unusual and diverse music scene. We are lucky enough to live somewhere, where people have no problems with pushing the barriers of music to their limits. Neon Salmon go one step further than that. They break the barriers completely. Sitting somewhere in the middle of dreamy indie rock and trip-hop, this band has demonstrated on a few occasions now how it won’t ever produce anything that’s “normal”.

Fond
These guys are coming over from Leeds to play this show, with their quirky take on powerpop. It’s got bounce, it’s got a skip in it’s step and it’ll surely be a treat for the ears when they perform it live. There’s a whole bunch of stuff going on in this sound, from the jingle-jangle pop of Magic Numbers, to the squarking dusty beauty of Shannon And The Clams.

Loverman
Don’t know too much about these new cats on the block. They are pretty fresh. A two-piece fronted by Nathan Foley of Valmores fame. Influences include Nick Cave (where the band nabbed their name from) so it sounds as if it will be interesting! FIRST EVER SHOW!
