It’s time to dust off your Carhartt jeans and turn your baseball cap backwards. We’re going back in time, as we welcome back one of York’s brightest burning stars of the mid 2000’s.
Breakout Project have re-formed!
Forming the bridge between rap, rock and punk, Breakout Project have been turning noise into something beautiful, in one way or another, for more than 10 years. Funny, politically charged, explosive and with face melting, sludgy riffs they dare you to not love it!
The newly reformed quartet of vocalist Theo Issitt, guitarist David ‘Earni’ Earnishaw, bassist Reuben Witcherley and drummer Chris Handley switched gears and took a new take on the old. Older, questionably wiser and only slightly better at their instruments they have ripped everything back and created something beautiful. The new song Devil On The Inside is a testament to this. Listen and love it.
For how long they are back together is anyone’s guess! But rest assured you will at least get to see them once, in the flesh, here at The Fulford Arms.
In support, we have two acts who were active around the same time when Breakout Project was a real thing.
Flatcap Carnival will be bringing us some feel-good carnival ska sounds. The band has been doing some pretty big York festival slots recently and we are looking forward to an intimate performance from this talented party band.
Opening the event, we have the extraordinary talents of Vinnie Whitehead. The man who once played his hit song at Hull City Stadium, is coming back to The Fulford Arms for a special set. He runs a regular open mic night in town, but you won’t see Vinnie doing a full set there, so come early and watch him do his thing:
