Nikki & the Phantom Callers are a jangle-pop/indie rock outfit from Atlanta, with Prodigal Daughter being their latest release. It’s a feminist spin on the biblical story of the prodigal son, with the main message of the track about how sinners all eventually come home again.

The track starts off slow and subtle, before building up into something more. Wonderful harmonies resonate with the female vocals that lead the track, with something of a 60s surf pop theme present within the tune as well. It’s certainly different from a lot of the indie out there at the moment (think The Big Moon crossed with Best Coast and you’re almost there), which gives us high hopes for the band.
