We recently sat down with a bunch of artists from the Stencil Label, to find out what makes them tick. Rozu were up next, and what an exciting year they’ve had!

How is 2018 treating you so far?
2018 has been treating us very well so far. We’ve finally been able to open the iron curtain, announce this project, and really get the wheels moving for Rozu.
Have you released any music so far this year? If so, what can you tell us about that?
We released our debut single Dissolve back in June and was a very big sigh of relief to finally get that thing out there. The song is a perfect balance of our heavy and melodic styles as writers and was a very good song to come out of the gate with. A perfect song for your gym playlist!
Are you working on any new music at the moment? What are you working on, and when will it be released?
We are working on a lot of new material actually. Our whole entire plan for this band is to be consistently writing and putting material out, so we already have like 16 songs either ready to go or in it’s final stages of mixing. We are releasing a new single Faceless on September 15 and a few more singles throughout the remainder of 2018.
Have you got any upcoming tours planned? If so, where are you playing and where are you looking forward to going most?
We are working on a couple run of shows right now but unfortunately cannot speak much further on those.
Who/what has influenced you the most as musicians?
We all come from a very post hardcore background really gathering a lot of influences from Taking Back Sunday, Saosin, Underoath, and Chiodos. Really, we just get inspired by good shit even if it is not music, cinema and all forms of art inspire us.
What have you been listening to recently that you can recommend to our readers?
As of right now I’ve been listening to the new Eminem album which is really incredible, he is one of the greats. Aside from the rap game our boys in Avoid just dropped a new album and that shit is killer. Check that album out!
Why do you think people should pick up one of your records or come and see you live, and what can people expect from one of your shows?
I think what is special about our live show is that we are all having a great fucking time on stage. We write music that we love and want to write as opposed to others that try and fit a mold and try to be like band A and it shows with the amount of energy we have on that stage. If you come to Rozu show you will be infected with the urge to just move, jump, dance, or toss around your best friend.
Any last words for the fans?
First and foremost, thank you guys for having us! To the fans thank you so much for all the amazing support at such a precious and new point in our career getting this new project off the ground, you guys are truly beautiful. If you haven’t check out Dissolve yet please do so on any streaming platform and be on the look for Faceless later this month.
