New track Cheap Thrills clashes big punk riffs with chanting vocals. However, just when you think you’ve got a measure of the track a Gorillaz-esque hip-hop verse comes out of leftfield. You’re left with a track that isn’t quite one thing and isn’t quite another and really a hybrid of uniqueness. Cheap Thrills is short, powerful and a whole lot of fun.
Since 2015 Phantom Phunk have been a force to be reckoned with in the underground scene of Tampa Bay, Florida. I’m glad they’ve hit my radar because they definitely deserve international attention. Check out Cheap Thrills below.
