The news follows the recent unveiling of the band’s striking new single Would You Rather Be Lonely?, which has been receiving airplay on BBC 6 Music throughout this week. Loaded with the cavaliering thrills’n’spills that witnessed its high-octane predecessor Honey receive nationwide radio play on BBC 6 Music (Chris Hawkins, Tom Robinson, Steve Lamacq), BBC Radio Wales (Janice Long) and Radio X (Ross Buchanan, Gordon Smart, John Kennedy), Would You Rather Be Lonely? has all the hallmarks of another surefire hit single.
The track is the latest to be lifted from Red Rum Club’s highly anticipated debut album Matador, set for worldwide release on 11th January 2019 via the Modern Sky UK label (The Blinders / Slow Readers Club).
Matador was recorded at the infamous Parr Street Studios in Liverpool, with added production assistance from Chris Taylor. See the band at the Brudenell Social Club in Leeds on March 16th.
