First up was keyboard/vocalist Julia Othmer who delivered cheeky lyrics sang beautifully and was obviously enjoying the tour, having lots of playful interaction with the audience. In the words of one of her song titles, she was Frickin Awesome.

Next up were Texas rock’n’rollers Ryan Hamiliton & The Harelquin Ghosts. These guys owned the stage and brought with them the feel good factor – an excellent support band ready to take on the rest of the world.

The Alarm played an absolute cannon of material from their extensive back catalogue including Sold Me Down the River, Rain in the Summertime, 68 Guns, Where were you Hiding?, Strength, Rescue Me, and Spirit of ’76, as well as new material from their new album, Equals, including Peace Now and Beautiful.

Frontman Mike Peters has incredible boundless energy (more so when you realise that this is the man that has beaten cancer three times). Not only was he belting every song out with a full throttle passion, he constantly engaged with his audience whilst he cut a groove through the stage floor as he sang through not one, not two, but three separate microphones placed on centre stage and stage left and right. Every part of the audience was given his attention as they held their hands high. The obligatory decks of cards was thrown during Where were you Hiding? It was an incredible, non stop performance.
