Yorkshire entertainer Ryan Swain wins award in Birmingham

On Friday 30th November, Ryan Swain won the People’s Choice Award 2018 in Birmingham at the ICC, which were sponsored by The Symphony Hall and Birmingham Town Hall for all his hard work in entertainment for charity. It was a huge national awards ceremony organised by The Phoenix Newspaper, with Ryan bringing the award back to North Yorkshire.

The awards ceremony was a multicultural awards ceremony, and there was royalty from around the world, celebrities from stage and screen, high-ranked military officials and other dignitaries in attendance at the red carpet event which took place at the ICC in Birmingham. Ryan shared the same table as Shaun Wallace “The Dark Destroyer” from ITV’s The Chase, Mo from Eastenders and Olympic Gold Medalist Tessa Sanderson MBE.

Ryan was the only person from Yorkshire who won an award, and he was up against Capital Xtras Tim Westwood and Sir Lenny Henry. Other nominees included Big Narstie, Harry Kane, John Barnes, Danny Dyer, Stormzy and lots more.

Ryan is an award winning presenter, all round entertainer and DJ hailing from Malton in North Yorkshire, and he has worked with some of the biggest names in showbiz. Next year Ryan has some huge shows coming up nationwide, and is set to embark upon a UK tour hosting a string of festivals and events across Yorkshire and beyond.
