Good Times & Company – Interview

We recently had the oppotunity to chat to a bunch of bands from the Stencil label, with our next chat being with Good Times & Company, who will be releasing a new album soon. See how we got on below…

By Jane Howkins

How is 2019 treating you so far?

Great! We just finished tracking our new album, Cosmonaut, and are looking forward to the finished product. We have a whole new sound are building a new line up!

Have you released any music so far this year? If so, what can you tell us about that?

We have not yet, but we plan to release a single in early spring!

So you’ve been working on some new music? What are you working on, and when will it be released?

Well, we never actually stop writing. That’s a constant thing. We just finished tracking the new album, so we are working with our producer now to find the perfect mix. Once everything is polished, we will drop a single including some other new, radical stuff.

Have you got any upcoming tours planned? If so, where are you playing and where are you looking forward to going most?

No tours at the moment, which is kinda sad to say. We are working on finding a new drummer, so obviously we are hindered in the live music side of things. Just be ready for us to pop up everywhere online! And although we aren’t booking a tour right now, we are looking forward to playing some festivals this summer!

Who/what has influenced you the most as musicians?

Life, experience in the industry, and all the bands/artists we listen to collectively. There are a LOT to name.

What have you been listening to recently that you can recommend to our readers?

The Strokes, Ceramic Animal, Joji, Sticky Fingers, SKEGGS, Rex Orange County, Erik Satie, Lightnin’ Hopkins, Boy Pablo, Beck, Owen,

Why do you think people should pick up one of your records or come and see you live, and what can people expect from one of your shows?

Our records are entirely unique. Cosmonaut is a fantastic example of what we do. We make our own brand of alternative/indie rock and we bust it out live like it’s the last time we will ever see a stage. We treat this band that way. You’ll just have to listen for yourself.

Any last words for the fans?

Give our music a chance, I can honestly say you’ll dig it. A lot. Also, always be rad towards each other.
