Come On is the latest song to be released by Wax Owls, an indie/alt-pop trio from Los Angeles.
By Jane Howkins
It’s a very anthemic track, featuring a slow burn of a verse that eventually erupts into a huge chorus. The main verse melody is quite subtle, but it has a beautiful quality to it that is enlarged even more on the chorus. The track is about the suicide of vocalist Gerry Hirschfield’s friend, and you can really feel the emotion in his voice when he sings – it all makes for very powerful stuff!
