York outfit Cold Culprits return with charismatic indie rock for their first single of the year.

York project, Cold Culprits, are set to release their forthcoming single on 22 of January. Originally hailing from Hertfordshire, Cold Culprits now finds a home in North Yorkshire and so naturally is on York Calling’s radar.

First and foremost on this track is the very recognisable and charismatic vocal performance, which aids in grabbing the listener’s attention and keeping it on the track throughout its runtime. As well as this, the melodic guitar riff which opens the track quickly piqued my interest. Lyrically, Great Escape has a very catchy hook and overall optimistic and charismatic lyrics throughout. The bass line of Great Escape too does wonders to carry the listener through the song.
