One of Ireland’s greatest soulful jazz and blues singers Mary Coughlan will now perform live at Pocklington Arts Centre later this year with her new album Life Stories which went straight to number one in the Irish iTunes chart.
PAC favourite Mary released her album in September 2020 to universal acclaim, just months after receiving a lifetime achievement award in recognition of her immense impact on the arts and culture community in Galway City, by the Mayor Mike Cubbard. Now she will perform songs from her critically acclaimed album live at PAC on Tuesday 19 October, 8pm.
PAC Director, Janet Farmer, said: “Mary Coughlan is very much a firm PAC favourite, having previously amazed our audiences with her stunning vocal talent, so we are delighted to be welcoming her back later this year. Whether you’re into folk, blues or jazz, you cannot help but be moved by the emotional depth, expression and power in Mary’s voice, all forged from an undeniably extraordinary life. Mary’s PAC date is a welcome addition to our programme of live events for the autumn/winter 2021 season, and I cannot wait to hear her new, exquisite chart topping album performed live in our auditorium.”
