Folk legends Steeleye Span will play live at Pocklington Arts Centre (PAC) on Thursday 5 May, 2022 at 8pm when they bring their delayed 50th anniversary tour to East Yorkshire’s premier arts venue.
PAC is one of the smallest venues on the band’s national tour, giving audiences the chance to experience a phenomenal night of live music in an intimate, atmospheric auditorium.
Over five decades after the release of their debut album Hark The Village Wait, the seven-piece band, led by the iconic vocals of Maddy Prior, will finally be able to celebrate the key tracks from their ground-breaking album as well as familiar career favourites.
The band’s debut album would not only launch one of the most enduring stories in the folk world and beyond, but it would go on to influence further generations of artists.
PAC Director Janet Farmer, said: “We were of course disappointed that Steeleye Span were unable to perform as part of our 20th anniversary programme of live events last year, but we are incredibly excited to be able to bring the legendary band to PAC next year for a night of celebration filled with some absolute gems from their famous album.”
“Things may have been delayed due to the pandemic but it will absolutely be worth the wait!”
This will be Maddy’s second visit to PAC after appearing at the venue over a decade ago billed as Maddy Prior & Friends.
Tickets for Steeleye Span live at PAC on Thursday 5 May, 2022 are on sale now priced at £35.00 each. For more details and tickets visit www.pocklingtonartscentre.co.uk
