The curiously titled Ugly Smile are an American rock band with quite a unique sound to their music – Second Kind is their latest release.

Second Kind has quite a proggy feel to it, with interesting time sequences and guitar riffs being the name of the game here – it’s a hard rock song with classic rock elements, but it also has quite a modern feel to it. The production quality sounds fantastic (perhaps why it sounds so modern) and the guitar riffs are simply immense – there are quite a lot of musical changes that occur throughout the song, so it’s definitely worth listening to the whole thing!
