You recently released a new track titled Why Don’t You Care About Me. What can you tell us about the song and where can it be purchased?

Why Don’t You Care About Me is a song about innocence, desire, and unrequited love. I found myself channelling my inner teenager and going back to the times when I had a crush on someone and they did not feel the same way. I think we have all been through it at some point. It’s a difficult and uncomfortable time for everyone.

Have you got any plans to release a full length album/EP anytime soon?

I don’t have a plan to release an album – I’m doing singles only, it’s the best way for me to work.

What is the writing and recording process like for you?

When I am writing and recording, I usually start with the guitar part and then add the lyrics as the inspiration comes. Once I have the structure worked out, I will create a demo at home and then play it in my car over and over again. For some reason, driving and listening works well for me. When I have all the parts worked out, I will then hire a professional studio and record in blocks of 3 to 4 hours. Depending on the song, I will take around 10-15 hours of studio time to finish it. I bring in other musicians as needed.

Do you plan to release any singles at any point in the near future?

Yes, I have another song half written. After that I plan to do another guitar instrumental that I have been sitting on for a long time.

You’re originally from Brisbane. What is the music scene like in your part of the world at the moment and are there any local band/artists you can recommend?

The Brisbane music scene is very up and down at the moment due to covid. There is a lot of uncertainty. I really like Electro Swiggety and their unique brand of 50’s Jazz music.

What/who influences you most as an artist? What have you been listening to recently?

My main influences as a songwriter are Paul McCartney and The Beatles. Guitar wise it would be Tommy Emmanuel. Those guys are the masters of their craft.

Has the pandemic hindered your work much?

The pandemic has not really affected me music wise. I am mainly recording these days.

Do you have any tour dates lined up?

I don’t really have time to live gigs due to family commitments.

What can people expect from one of your gigs and why do you think people should come and see you perform live?

You can find one of my live performances here on Youtubehttps://yo…6WdTkBrnDk

Any last words for the fans?
