You recently released a track titled Nevermind, which we reviewed. What can you tell us about the song and where can it be purchased? What does the title refer to?

Nevermind is about dealing with difficult circumstances and was heavily inspired by the pandemic. I wrote it at its peak where a lot of people, including myself, struggled with their life situation not knowing when things will get better. Nevermind refers to the point of indifference a person eventually reaches if he/she isn’t able to help a loved one out of the unknown. I’d rather hear a note of hope that it’s alright but never mind. It’s available on every streaming service.

Has the pandemic hindered your work much?

In this case it fuelled my writing process. And due to the free time I had, I was able to create more music than usual. The only thing that was hindered is experiencing life to some extent which equals in lost stories to write about.

What is the writing and recording process like for you?

Writing can be very intuitive. Often times I have a mood or feeling about something that I want to express musically and it can start with a line or just a melody. Everything can be inspiring. Everywhere and anytime, that’s why I often take notes on my phone or record a random demo. In the actual recording process I enjoy creating harmonies the most because they just float around the lead vocals and really can enhance the track.

Do you plan to release any singles in the near future?

Definitely. Currently, I have so many demos that need to be reworked and finished. One single I am very proud of is called Too Much Like Myself and I will probably release it this year.

Are there any plans to release an EP or an album anytime soon?

I would love to drop an EP or mixtape but it’s also a lot of work and has to be consumed by listeners. Since I just started out, I will continue releasing singles for a while.

What/who influences you most as an artist? What have you been listening to recently?

I listen to all kinds of genres. I’ve really enjoy listening to SZA, BANKS, FKA twigs and Frank Ocean lately.

Whereabouts are you based and what is the music scene like in your part of the world?

I am currently based in Hamburg. A lot of artists live here and German pop & rap music is quite popular.

Do you have any tour dates lined up?

Not yet – first I need to release some more songs.

What can people expect from one of your shows and why should people come and see you perform live?

Maybe I’d perform the songs in an acoustic version to create a personal atmosphere. Everyone who enjoys the mix of future R&B and indie pop should come by.

Any last words for the fans?

Stay tuned!
