You recently released a track titled Fool, which we reviewed. What can you tell us about the track and where can it be purchased? What does the title refer to?

Fool is the last single of what I like to think is my debut era. It’s about a passive-aggressive, toxic even, relationship. But the storytelling and overall vibe are kind of silly and childish – almost like a high school romance. The song is heavily inspired by 90s house music and can be streamed everywhere, plus there’s a YouTube lyric video as well.

Has the pandemic hindered your work much?

The pandemic gave me the opportunity to focus on my music even more actually. I’ve been writing lyrics and melodies since forever, but music production was always this big, scary thing I never even planned to do until recently. So, when the pandemic started, I used that to learn music production which accelerated my songwriting considerably.

What is the writing and recording process like for you?

Ah, it’s always different, but I really value lyrics and getting a point across. So I write a lot of stuff on my phone. Thoughts, movie lines, things I’d want to say to certain people, things I don’t want to be thinking – so that usually comes first. Sometimes I walk on the streets and this melody pops into my head, so I start humming into my phone or I search for melodies and chords on the piano. And other times I am producing a track and the mood sets a scene and I write to that. And, honestly I love the fact that it’s always different.

Do you plan to release any more singles in the near future?

I plan to release more songs in the future, but not in the near one.

Do you have plans to release an EP or album anytime soon?

I’ve put out a few singles so far, but I don’t feel the need to compile them into an EP. I think they’re quite different from each other and I was testing what the audience likes. But I imagine that my next project will be a new chapter that will culminate into an EP.

What/who influences you most as an artist? What have you been listening to recently?

I am obsessed with pop culture. I like the fact that pop music can be so digestible, but at the same time can have deep underlayers – if you’re willing to really listen. I am deeply inspired by the 80s, 90s and recently also by the early 2000s.

Where are you based? What is the music scene like in your part of the world? Are you influenced by your surroundings?

I am currently living in a small town in Denmark and have attended a local competition and a few writing sessions, but I’ll be soon moving to Copenhagen and I believe there will be more opportunities there. I don’t know if I’m influenced directly by my surroundings because I listen to a lot of western music, but in the past 2 years I’ve been rediscovering my childhood music, which was a lot of euro pop.

Do you have any tour dates lined up?

For now I’m trying to build an audience and create a portfolio so unfortunately touring seems like something that is far into the future for me. However, I’m really looking forward to when that time comes.

Any last words for the fans?

I want to thank everyone that has supported me so far and to let you know that I’m in the studio writing many new songs and experimenting with my sound. I’m very excited for what’s to come.
