Interview – DiDs Music

I reviewed the track, No More, by DiDs Music a while ago, and found myself wanting to have a chat to find out a little more. See how I got on below!

By Jane Howkins

You recently released a track titled No More which we reviewed. What can you tell us about the track and where can it be purchased? What does the title refer to?

No More can be streamed on any streaming platform. No More is about someone realising that they can no longer stay in a relationship where the love has died.

Has the pandemic hindered your work much?

The pandemic introduced me into my love of making instrumental house tracks, as I couldn’t have session singers in to sing my songs.

What is the writing and recording process like for you?

My writing process starts mostly with lyrics and a melody, but sometimes I create the music. It just depends on how quickly either happens at the time.

Do you plan to release any more singles in the near future?

Yes I have just released Warrior, an empowerment song about strength and courage.

What/who influences you most as an artist? What have you been listening to recently?

Prince influences me the most – he proved it’s possible to do anything you set your mind to. I’ve been listening to a lot of Miley Cyrus recently and Doja Cat – very different I know!

Whereabouts are you based and what is the music scene like in your part of the world? Are you influenced by your surroundings?

I’m based in a town called Bordon, near Portsmouth in the UK. The music scene here is very singer-songwriter based. Sometimes I’m influenced – it really depends on my mood when I’m writing.

Do you have any tour dates lined up?

No, I don’t tour as I’m a top line songwriter/producer/composer.

Any last words for the fans?

Thank you for listening to my music. Music is therapy for the soul.
