I recently reviewed the song, Til’ Your Heart Breaks, by Juna & Joey and I loved their sound. They have a new track coming out on Friday called More Than A Maybe, so if you like what you read below, then make sure you check it out!

Has the pandemic hindered your work much?

Juna – In a way yes and in a way no. In a positive sense, we wrote a lot and learned how to use Pro Tools to record and recorded music at home. Joey and I wrote a few songs together. In a negative sense, one gets a feeling of being set back two years. And we lost a lot of people in the industry and lost a lot of valuable time down in Nashville because of it. But we are young and can recoup that time.

Joey – We actually learned how to stream live events and did a ton of online interviews. We produced an EP with COVID related songs so that was different, because we could not go to Nashville to record our own music. When we finally did, it was under duress with masks. So not ideal. We are looking forward to being able to record our next EP under normal circumstances. We still went on tour in the UK and the US.

What is the writing and recording process like for you?

Juna – Joey and I are lucky to be able to have a writing partner built in as we are brother and sister and still live at home. I like to go deep into thought and write in my private space when I am alone, and I love going to Nashville to co-write where the atmosphere is collective with the vibe. The actual process of writing is something I look forward to and I try to write once a week if time allows.

Joey – I like to start with the melodies and Juna is more lyrically inclined, however, we also write together, individually and with other co-writers. We are hoping to collaborate with a few UK artists. I have been writing a lot of songs by myself lately. Two of them will make the next EP. I take songwriting at Berklee School of Music and it is nice to collaborate with professors and structuring titles is something I have improved upon.

Do you plan to release any more singles in the near future?

Juna – Yes, we are constantly writing and will be releasing our new EP shortly.

Joey – Be sure to check our Spotify we are going to be releasing music on average every eight weeks.

Have you started writing for an EP or an album?

Juna – Yes, we are constantly writing and will be releasing our new EP shortly.

Joey – Be sure to check our Spotify we are going to be releasing music on average every eight weeks. We have a pre save on our socials right now for More Than A Maybe, hitting radio on June 17th.

What/who influences you most as artists? What have you been listening to recently?

Juna – Carly Pearce, Ashley Mc Bride, Hardy, Koe Wetzel, Cody Johnson – there are so many – we agree on a lot of the same artists.

Joey – For me the same, plus Luke Combs, Morgan Wallen, Parker Mc Collum, to name a few. I would like to work with Post Malone or Adam Levine & Stevie Wonder.

Where are you based? What is the music scene like in your part of the world?

Juna/Joey – We are originally from West Palm Beach, Florida and we also recently moved to Nashville as well. So we go back and forth when we are not on tour, most of the time. So we live on the road.

Do you have any tour dates lined up?

Juna – Yes, we have a lot going on – we have a UK tour all summer and when we get back we have TV appearances, conventions and festivals. Our schedule is always updating so please check our Spotify and bandisintown for updates.

Joey – We have a booking agency in Florida and will be booking songwriting also in Nashville, and we will be in California in the fall for harvest season to see our TV agent and radio tour.

What can people expect from one of your shows and why should people come and see you perform live?

Juna – We try to deliver authentic country music with the passion and energy the fans deserve. They should come to our shows because we truly love meeting our fans and new people and we have a good time. And if you love a family harmony – definitely come out to see us. We not only will introduce our new music, which will be heard live for the first time. But also what we wrote together and what we wrote with hit songwriters in Nashville too. It is great to get feedback from the fans. We also will be introducing some cool & unique merch.

Joey – We try to keep the show as lively as possible and maybe fans can be there in the beginning – like the future of country music – grow with us and hang out. Give us your critique and we welcome the input. We not only play our music – we try to do a mixture of songs you recognize and enjoy, be it a classic or the top 40 country hits too. We take requests. We are also working on some dance stuff so maybe after our set we can dance a little too.

Any last words for the fans?

Juna – Thank you for all your support and stay safe and positive. Don’t forget we go live every Tuesday on Instagram and Friday on Tiktok. And random lives happen on Tiktok so jump on and hang out – we have up to 1,000 people at a time – sometimes stars and influencers too.

Joey – Keep in touch as we have a lot of new music coming and we hope to meet you at our meet and greets before and after shows. Definitely hang out on our lives and DM us as we will answer if possible. Be kind to yourself and others. Stay positive.
