Cael Dadian has been making waves in the musical world of late, with his latest track, Continue, showing just why! If you liked the track and want to find out a little more about him, read on below!
By Jane Howkins
You recently released a track titled Continue, which we reviewed. What can you tell us about the song? What does the title refer to?
Continue actually refers to the opposite… or rather it’s part of the question, “do you want to continue?” Instead of telling me you want to, I need you to show me.
Has the pandemic hindered your work much?
Unfortunately the pandemic absolutely had an impact on my work and some things I had in motion. From meetings to live performances, it certainly halted things, but I’m happy to say I’m back in the flow of things for the most part!
What is the writing and recording process like for you?
I always start with a title/concept. I write interesting titles as I think of them and use them when I create music that fits the title of concept accordingly.
Do you plan to release any more singles in the near future?
I’ll be releasing singles every two to three months for as long as I can while dropping smaller pieces on platforms like Tiktok in the meantime!
Have you started writing for an EP or an album?
I’ll likely be putting these singles onto a full length project!
What/who influences you most as an artist? What have you been listening to recently?
My favorite artists are Coldplay, Kanye, Michael Jackson, and Frank Ocean – so quite a range. Lately I’ve been enjoying Montell Fish, Joji, and Jacob Collier.
Where are you based? What is the music scene like in your part of the world?
I’m based in San Diego which is a small pond for musicians, although places like Encinitas and Downtown are filled with music lovers and consumers!
Do you have any tour dates lined up?
No tour dates to show for at the moment.
What can people expect from one of your shows and why should people come and see you perform live?
At this point my live setup is humble but effective. You should expect me to have an acoustic guitar around my neck and to have a musician friend or two jamming with me. You’ll be hearing some non traditional tunes of mine adapted to an acoustic setting, vulnerable lyrics, and likely a unique acoustic cover rendition of one of my favourite songs as well!
Any last words for the fans?
It’s early for me right now… I’m spread a bit wide trying to create short form content, get production placements, and develop myself as an artist, but I’m hungry and chasing my goals every day. More to come!
