Abandon The Fall are a heavy hitting hard rock project with an anthemic sound that I just love! I recently had the chance to check out their track, Devours You, and wanted to share more about the project with our readers, hence this interview.
By Jane Howkins
You released a song recently that we reviewed, titled Devours You. What can you tell us about the track?
Devours You is based on a back-and-forth conversation with someone who is going down a dark path. While pleads for help ring out, the vocalist knows all too well that he can’t be the hero he’s being made out to be. Any involvement goes against his morals, especially knowing that the struggling individual is not committed to changing for the better.
Devours You was co-produced alongside Dayshell, with Dayshell taking up writing, vocal, and mixing duties, respectfully.
Where can Devours You be purchased and how has the reception been?
Devours You can be purchased through iTunes. The song is also available for streaming across all digital platforms.
The reception for this song has been great. The feedback and support received goes beyond anything I could have ever expected.
Do you have any more singles planned for release?
I have quite of bit of material that’s nearly completed. I expect to release a string of singles throughout each quarter of 2023.
Are there any plans to release an album or EP anytime soon?
I’ll be releasing 2 (4 track) instrumental EPs throughout 2023. The first will come early to mid-year, with the second coming late fall/early winter.
I really enjoyed the combination of instrumental and feature releases for Abandon The Fall in 2021. It’s something that I plan to continue to do going forward.
Did the pandemic hinder your work much?
No, the pandemic didn’t hinder my work at all. I was blessed enough to be able to release music without any issues. And to my surprise, I was able to release a lot more music than expected.
Your music is quite heavy. What/who are you influenced by and what have you been listening to recently?
As far as influences go, those vary between projects.
Recently, I’ve been listening to bands like Dayshell (who just released a new single titled Letting Go), Palisades, Traceless, My Position and Set The Sun (just to name a few).
Where are you based? What is the local music scene like there at the moment?
I’m based out of Houston, TX.
The music is multicultural. Very diverse. From the most underground of acts to up-and-coming spotlighters, there’s literally something (in any genre) for everyone in Houston.
Do you have any UK tour dates planned?
There aren’t any UK tour dates planned at this moment.
What can people expect from one of your shows and why do you think people should come and see you perform?
There haven’t been any shows performed to date. Currently the focus is to continue to build a strong catalogue. As future demand arises, I’ll reassess any potential opportunities to take Abandon The Fall to a live setting.
Any last words for the fans?
