Abisso are a unique proposition, creating cinematic ambient pieces with a touch of classical music. If you’re into your music a little left-field, then you should definitely check them out!

You released a song recently that we reviewed, titled Malik. What can you tell us about the track?
Son Of Abyss is a concept album, so Malik represents one of the nuances that make it up.
Each piece is closely connected to the previous one and to the next one. It could therefore be said that Malik is Son Of Abyss and Son Of Abyss is Malik.
Malik comes from an album called Son Of Abyss.
What can you tell us about the overall album?
Son Of Abyss: an instrumental album, entirely self-produced, of a dark ambient mood. It’s ten tracks give life to a real concept album with strong cinematic references. Rarefied and sad atmospheres come together in a melancholy, ambient sound that intertwines suggestive dark plots with piano and violin notes, touching a meticulous alchemical balance. This project represents very intimate/personal elements and aspects.
Among other things, we would like people to grasp the beauty and importance of remembering themselves, imbued with the entire emotional spectrum that they
often carry like a bundle that doesn’t belong to them. However, since everyone’s perception and processing differs, everyone will interpret in their own way what they see/observe, listen/hear and feel.
Where can Son Of Abyss be purchased and how has the reception been so far?
Currently the album is available on various platforms (including Amazon and Bandcamp) in digital format; however, we are also working on a physical limited edition version. For the moment, the reception has been quite positive from both fans and the media. We are truly honoured by this.
Unfortunately, as is well known, it is rather complex for an independent artist to emerge and find visibility, especially when producing a rather niche genre that escapes tags and targets, but at the same time needs to have them in this sad social context.
Do you have any singles planned for release from the EP?
No. The singles are just Son Of Abyss and Malik.
Have you started writing for another EP/album?
Yes. We are working on the new album which we plan to release in the winter.
Did the pandemic hinder your work much?
Nope.
Your music belongs firmly within the classical music category, but it also has quite a dark, ambient vibe. What/who are you influenced by and what have you been listening to recently?
Sincerely, our production is quite spontaneous and mainly influenced by our memories. While we are very fond of the dark dimension (in its broadest sense and expression), gloomy/melancholy, environmental, cinematic atmospheres and classical music (among other things), we were not inspired by anyone or anything in particular.
Lately we have listened to several soundtracks from productions such as Violet
Evergarden, Made in Abyss, Hannibal (series) Aika and Scratches (two
games), Return to Oz, but also metal music.
You’re based in Italy. What is the local music scene like there at the moment?
Hmm… The current Italian music scene does not fit our tastes…
Do you have any UK tour dates planned?
(Un)fortunately we do not have a tour planned because we do not perform, but
we would very much like to have the opportunity to visit the UK.
Any last words for the fans?
We would like to heartfeltly thank them very much for their support and we hope they will continue to glad us with their precious presence.
