It might seem like a bold statement, but sayryn’s new release The Mortician is definitely one of my favourite songs of the year so far!

The Mortician is a folk song with a traditional sound, with the eerie guitar melodies evoking up certain mystical images in the brain. The vocals are used to fantastic effect here, as different vocal lines layer around each other, making everything sound really dreamy. The vocals follow the guitar lines, breaking off every so often, before returning to add a further beauty to the piece. I really loved this tune – hopefully you will do too!
