British Columbia, Canada-based pop rock artist Darrian Gerard first hit our radar over the summer thanks to her subversive breakup song I’m Not Sorry. Now she’s back with a new track and video. A moment of catharsis, it’s called Explosion.

The opening of Explosion bristles with seething pop-punk energy. Darrian’s vocals are wonderfully expressive as she spits out the first verse. A gradual build takes things to a climactic chorus where the track lives up to its name. Explosion is one for those of us struggling to care today.
Inspired by pop rock legends such as Avril Lavigne, Blink-182 and Halsey, fans of those artists will find a lot to love about Explosion. You can check the video below.
