Lexie Carroll is a relatively new discovery of mine, but I found myself captivated by her music, having a similar sound to Phoebe Bridgers.

annual birthday cry is another stripped-down indie-folk song – it’s quite a subtle track, but this only makes it sound more beautiful. Several quiet guitars play in the background, with some small backing effects also being added to create more of an atmosphere. The vocals have an almost whispered quality, but it’s still clear that Lexie has a fantastic voice, with her voice suiting the music perfectly. I love Lexie’s music – make sure you check it out!
