Tinsel for a Tear is a soft rock/dream-pop song that also has quite a major chamber pop influence, reminding me a lot of the 60s pop movement. It’s got quite an upbeat melody, with the vocals floating across the music in the background, as multiple guitar lines meld together in style. The lead vocals sound a little distant in the mix, but they work surprisingly well – especially when they harmonise with the backing vocals on the chorus!
