Hedvig Mollestad Trio is a group headed by Norwegian musician Hedvig Mollestad herself, creating experimental songs that span across a number of different genres.

Maternity Suite is a really eclectic song, hard to characterise by genre. It has elements of rock, pop and jazz, but the track isn’t just limited to those styles! It’s got a great deal of exuberance, with the fast drums sounding very technical throughout. This long song changes every so often, descending into an avant-garde guitar solo a couple of minutes in. The pace picks up soon afterwards, with a faster, driving rhythm making it sound almost like a punk song – this is for one for those of you into your more experimental music!
